CARBURIZING SALT - 57

Carburizing  Salt  -  57  is  incorporated  with  activators  for producing carburised cases in mild steel and alloy case hardening steels.  The Hardning Salt - 670 by two parts is melted first,  a cover of conservating compound is added  and then  temperature israised to 900 c carburising salt 57 by one part is  then added tothe two third of the pot. The articles are preheated and suspended in  the  molten bath. The  soaking  time  varies  with temperature and the case depth required. The maximum  case - depth attainable would be 2.5 mm with half the total  case  glass-hard and grounded  safely. The bath strength is maintained at  20% of sodium cyanide Contednt.  

Nitriding salt  - 460

This is a specially developed nitriding salt having  working  range 450-600*c.  Used  for nitriding high speed tool  steels  such  as reamers, taps, form tools etc., with a bright grey appearance and a maximum case depth hardness of 0.125 mm is attained.
