RUSTKLEEN ME 130
Rustkleen
me 130 is used for electrolytic derusting and descaling of iron
and steel
and for activating steel prior
to plating.
This effctively removes
rust, scale, carbon smut and oxides from steel
by one simple electrolytic operation and ensures
excellent adhesion of
subsequent plated
coatings. Thus rtustkleen me 130
eliminates the
necessity for acid dips in plating cycles and replaces acid
pickles for rust and scale removal.
Rustkleen
me 130 can
be used in barrel and vat plating
lines. The solution can
be maintained indefinitely by periodic
analysis and
replenishment.

Preparation
:-fill the tank 2/3rd full of water and add
the required amount of rustkleen me 130 carefully with
stirring,stir vigorously unti all the material is dissolved and
make up the level with water.
Operation
:-
(a)
For plating :
1) Preclean in alkaline hot soak cleaner or emulsion
cleaner.
2) Cathodic cleaning in rustkleen me 130

3) Cold Water Rinse.
4) Plate in Cyanide baths such as Cadmium, Zinc, Copper or
Brass in case
of acid plating baths such as nickel,a dilute acid dip
should be given
neutralize the
residual alkalinity after treating inrustkleen me 130.
(b) For derusting & descaling
For removing red rust, the work should be treated
cathodically in
rustkleen me 130 at a concentration of 300-350 g/l.
For removing
scale and carbon sumut periodic reverse current
should be
employed if periiodic
reverse current is not available
doublethrow switch may be employed for changing the
polarity.
Equipment:-the
tank may be made of m.s.rubber or plastic lined m.s.if
plain steel tank is used insulators should be provided to
avoid anodic attack of the tank.black carbnon electrodes are
recommended.
Maintenance
:-the solution can be controlled by periodic analysis of free
sodium cyanide and alkali content. The iron sludge should
beremoved periodically to
increase the life
of the solution.dummyingcan be carried out every week for
